PS5 Pragmata
-
Pragmata is Capcom’s new single-player sci-fi action-adventure game (their newest original IP), released on April 17, 2026 for PS5 (among other platforms). It has been very well received.
Story & Gameplay
Set in the near future on a lunar research station, you control Hugh Williams (a human responder) and his android companion Diana (a unique “Pragmata” android made from advanced material called Lunafilament). After a lunar quake, the duo must work together to survive, uncover mysteries, and return to Earth.
Core mechanics blend:
- Third-person shooting/gunplay (Hugh uses a variety of firearms and suit thrusters for mobility).
- Hacking (Diana exposes enemy weaknesses, unlocks paths/doors, and interacts with the environment).
- Strategic, fast-paced combat where teamwork is key — hack to weaken, then shoot.
- Exploration, puzzle elements, and boss fights in a cold, atmospheric lunar facility (including memorable levels like a lunar NYC recreation).
It’s a 10–15 hour story-focused experience with strong character chemistry between Hugh and Diana. The game uses Capcom’s RE Engine for impressive visuals.
PS5 Performance & Features
- Runs well on base PS5 with performance (60fps) and resolution modes.
- PS5 Pro enhanced — Best version with ray tracing + locked 60fps, superior image quality via PSSR, and higher resolution.
- Full DualSense support (haptics, adaptive triggers).
- Offline, single-player only.
Reviews & Reception
- Metacritic: ~85 (Generally Favorable) on PS5, with very high recommendation rates (96% positive critic reviews). Strong user scores too.
- Praised for: Innovative hacking + shooting combat, visuals/art direction, emotional story, and overall fun factor. Some note the narrative has minor stumbles but the gameplay shines.
