Polaroid Color 600 Film
-
Polaroid Color 600 Film is the classic instant color film pack designed primarily for vintage Polaroid 600-series cameras, but it is fully compatible with modern i-Type cameras (such as the Polaroid Now Gen 3, Now+, OneStep 2, I-2, Flip, Go, and Polaroid Lab printer).
Key Details
- Format: Full-frame square prints (image area ~3.1″ x 3.1″ / 79mm x 79mm, full print ~4.2″ x 3.5″ with white border).
- Exposures: 8 photos per pack.
- ISO: Equivalent to 640 (600 speed).
- Development: 10–15 minutes (protect from light while developing).
- Battery: Built-in battery in the cartridge (powers older 600 cameras; unnecessary but harmless in i-Type cameras with their own rechargeable battery).
Compatibility Summary
- Works perfectly in i-Type cameras (Now Gen 3, etc.) — many users choose 600 film for special editions or when i-Type stock is low.
- Required for vintage 600 cameras (they need the battery from the film pack).
- i-Type film does NOT work in vintage 600 cameras (no battery).
Pros & Cons (vs Color i-Type Film)
- Pros: Same great Polaroid color chemistry and look; works in both old and new cameras; special/limited editions often released in 600 format.
- Cons: Slightly more expensive than i-Type film (due to the built-in battery you don’t need on modern cameras).
This pairs excellently with the Polaroid Now Gen 3 Black bundle and Go Gen 2 you asked about earlier. For everyday shooting on your Now/Go cameras, i-Type is cheaper, but Color 600 is ideal for special occasions or when you want more options.
