Fujifilm Instax Mini 13
-
Fujifilm Instax Mini 13 is Fujifilm’s latest entry-level instant camera, released in March 2026. It’s a simple, fun, point-and-shoot analog camera that delivers credit-card-sized Instax Mini prints instantly. It’s positioned as an affordable, beginner-friendly option with minimal controls.
Key Features & Upgrades (vs. Mini 12)
- New Self-Timer (10 seconds): The biggest addition — great for group shots or solo selfies.
- Design: Soft, rounded “pillowy” body in fun pastel colors (e.g., Frost Blue, Dreamy Purple, Lagoon Green). Slightly more uniform shape than the Mini 12.
- Lens & Modes: 60mm f/12.7 Fujinon lens. Automatic exposure + flash. Dedicated Close-Up/Selfie Mode (0.3–0.5m) with parallax correction and a built-in selfie mirror.
- Prints: Uses Instax Mini film (sold separately). Image size: 62 × 46 mm (full print: 86 × 54 mm). Develops in ~90 seconds.
- Power: 2 × AA batteries (easy to replace, ~100 prints per set).
- Other: Automatic film ejection, real-image optical viewfinder.
It’s intentionally basic — no double exposure, no creative filters (those are on higher models like Mini 99), and no app control for shooting.
Specs Summary
- Dimensions: Approx. 105.5 × 124.7 × 67.6 mm
- Weight: ~327g (without batteries/film)
- Shutter: 1/2 to 1/250 sec (programmed AE)
- Focus Range: 0.5m+ normal; 0.3–0.5m close-up mode
Reviews & Reception
- Highly praised for simplicity, fun factor, and value. PCMag gave it Editors’ Choice (4/5) as the best budget entry into instant photography.
- CNET: 7/10 — charming but very basic.
- Ideal for beginners, teens, parties, travel, or gifts. Prints have that classic Instax charm (vibrant colors, slightly soft/fun analog look).
Drawbacks:
- Image quality is “charming” rather than sharp (typical for instant film).
- Easy to accidentally leave it in Close-Up mode.
- No advanced features.
Overall: The Instax Mini 13 is an excellent no-fuss starter camera if you want instant physical prints without complexity. The self-timer makes it noticeably better than the Mini 12 for group use. If you already own a Mini 12, it’s not a must-upgrade unless you really want the timer.
