1. New Round Design and Display
The most noticeable change is the new round design, which features a stunning 1.32-inch HD AMOLED display. The display boasts a resolution of 466×466 pixels and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, making it one of the brightest screens on the market. This ensures excellent visibility, even under direct sunlight, a crucial feature for outdoor workouts. In contrast, the Amazfit Active 1 had a more basic square design with a less vibrant screen.
2. Enhanced Sensors
The Active 2 comes equipped with an upgraded BioTracker 6.0 PPG biosensor featuring dual-LED and 5PD (photodiode) technology. It also includes a barometric altimeter for altitude monitoring and an ambient light sensor to adjust screen brightness based on lighting conditions.
These new sensors provide more accurate health tracking and open up new fitness possibilities, like altitude data for hiking and skiing. The Active 1 lacked these advanced sensors.
3. Advanced Sports Features
Amazfit Active 2 expands its sports modes to over 160 options, including nearly 40 new modes, such as skiing, stair climbing, and golf swing tracking. The watch also offers offline terrain and ski field maps, allowing users to navigate without an internet connection.
The new Strength Training Recognition mode can automatically detect exercises, count reps, and track rest times. These features weren’t available on the Active 1, making the Active 2 a more comprehensive fitness companion.
